Polarity Reversals

I wonder how many of us knows much, if anything about polarity reversals. Of late, I've been looking up Youtube and did some googling on this.

With my limited scientific understanding, enough to grasp the child like delights of playing with magnets - how they attract and replies with physical positioning, I'm learning that the shifts in magnetic poles is something that has happened over the history of planet earth, and that it will happen again soon. There's growing evidence and consensus that it's not a question of if, but when. 

How soon, I shall not dwell upon. Leave that to the experts.

One significant learning point for me, having invested almost an hour on the video and then reading up on wikipedia, I learned that the earth is an amazing planet which generates its own magnetic field, which to a large extent, have shielded its inhabitants from the cancerous effects of solar winds.

There's beauty displayed when the these solar winds carrying charged particles collide with earth's atmosphere around the north pole and the south pole. They're the aurora borealis and the aurora australis respectively. There's lots of beautiful images of these on google. I hope to see them one day, not from my Mac screen, but live. One of these days!

I truly believe that earth was not formed by accident, anymore than a Rolex watch was formed from an explosion in Switzerland. I believe in a God who was not part of the universe, and He created the universe. I believe that the very fact there are laws governing the planetary system, and on earth are evidences of a higher and supreme being's handiwork.

Now, if you read up on polar shifts, or geomagnetic reversals, you get the idea of the possible chaos that might be unleashed. Would it crash computer systems globally and thus cripple the financial systems? Would it play havoc with navigational instruments? Would the global weather pattern be changed? Would the shifts aggravate certain weak spots of the earth's volcanic region and causes new volcanic activities in previously safe areas?

I'm not into doomsday literature, but I do believe what Jesus said, that in the last days, "There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven." (Luke 21:11)

Jesus continued, "There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. Men will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken." (Luke 21:25-26)

I'm not into scare mongering either, but I do hope to stimulate anyone who reads my blog, to consider and check up for yourself what the Bible says about the world, about Jesus Christ, and about you and me.

Find Jesus and you find abundant life. That's His promise (John 10:10).
