Why oh why?

There is a beauty to calmness,
to stillness, quietness
Serenity is its name.

In a world of troubles and sorrows,
Who wouldn't
wish and pray
for true peace to rule the world?

The sky, the trees, and the rivers
Living in harmony
So why can't we?

Are we destined to let evil and violence rule?
Be it in the name of power, riches or god?
Why oh why
Should peace only finally triumph
when evil men are dead in their graves?

There is one
called the Prince of Peace
Jesus is His Name
He calms every storm in mankind's hearts
If only people would turn and call to Him.
