A Ninja Turtle
I grew up watching Ninja turtles cartoons.
So when my friend posted on Facebook a cute picture of a terrapin dressed up as one, it's too good a picture to leave alone.
It's amazing how creativity comes into play.
Who could ever have imagined turtles, trained under a rat, becoming highly skilled ninjas who love pizzas! Each of the four were named after the artists of the Italian Renaissance. So, there's Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael. To heighten their identity they were color coded. So, this cute terrapin is Raphael (red bandanna).
Someone wrote somewhere, and I read it some time ago that creativity is really about bringing two or more distinct and different concepts together, thus creating something new.
Think about that!
When you think of it, a smart phone is an integration of numerous concepts. It's a phone + digital camera + a personal organizer + browser + apps for productivity and games! It's not the phone that is smart, but the ones who put it together. From this angle, it's creativity at work!
Innovation is the result of creativity at play, and then creativity put to work for the benefit of humankind.
It's not limited to cartoons, nor to technologically advanced products. Creativity is equally free for innovative ways to serve the community, to serve customers.
Can you think of two different concepts and bringing them together in some unified whole and presented as a new approach, a new service, a new you?
So, thank you Ninja turtles! You're a lesson in creativity for me.
Time to get creative.
