A Beautiful Rose

I wrote a birthday poem for a friend of mine, Lai Ling. 


She's a pastor, and wife to another pastor. How cool is that? And when I thought of her, a clear imagery of her emerges, which I've penned down. 

Different ones may have different facets of their perception and impressions of her. So mine will differ from those of others, but I think it's not too far off. 


Every person, over time, has certain qualities and characteristics that speaks forth for them. 


It's like a painting by Matisse is as different from that of Gauguin. The colors, the strokes, the themes, the very personality of the artist is breathed upon the canvas. 


So, here's my take on pastor Lai Ling. Blessed birthday to you!




A stable and steadfast faith, 
Rooted in the Lord,
Amidst swirling currents of lives and events,
A beacon of hope to those near and far
Beauty of a living rose
The planting of the Lord!
