The Philosophy of the World

A disciple of Christ stops loving the world system which is built in opposition to the spirit of Christ.

The world system is built on the lusts of the flesh, the lusts of the eyes and the pride of life - all three are centered on the self. The self-centered will love the world system because it appeals their very nature.

The Christ-centered would come to a realization that such a philosophy is hollow, deceptive and ultimately destructive.

A disciple of Christ learns to discern the underlying values and governing philosophy within one's self and weeds out all that is not of Christ. Such a person also guards against falling in love with the world system.

"Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Fatheris not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever." 1 John 2:15-17
