In the silence of the night
In the silence of the night
When hardly anything is astir
The tick tock of the clock rules the room
The soft sounds of sleep amidst the gloom
A rhythmn that moves together
Quietness unfolds the deepest thoughts
Hopes and fears awakened in a fog
Dimly lit by the moon outside
Intertwined they run side by side
Lost in the forest of my thoughts
Like tiny sparks of fireflies in bushes by the rock
On and off, here and there, and everywhere
Where am I?
Has the dark so completely erased my sense of direction
No grasp of my soul's location
Then I recall these words
From the lips of my Lord
Be still and know I am God
He watches, my Maker
He understands, my Master
Bringer of peace
I am still in His Presence
And all is well with my soul
