Jeremy Lin & David

Jeremy Lin reminds me of David in the Bible, the one kid that no one thought would be king! The one that no one really thought of!

So when prophet Samuel - the king maker - comes along looking to pour some serious stuff on the next dude who would be king, Sam was expecting someone who looked the part.

He was taken in by Jesse's oldest son - the 7 footer NBA star. But God's not buying it. He's got one failed case in Saul, another high flyer type. So, down the drafting list they went, one after another!

It was just not going well at all. The game's bad, the fans' mad! Well, might as well give Jeremy a crack, nothing to lose!

Even then David's own dad did not think or bother to raise up the issue of his youngest son. It's just too far out an idea to think his little boy could fit the bill.

No one thought David had the profile of an All Star. No one thought! And Sam, standing there dissatisfied, just had to ask - do you have any more sons around Jesse?

So David was summoned, and the rest is history!

What kind of a person does God look for? A man after His own heart! Way to go Jeremy! Who does God pick for His All Stars?

I would say it’s a miracle just because anytime something like this happens, a lot of stuff has to be put into place, and a lot of it is out of my control ... If you look back at my story, it doesn’t matter where you look, but God’s fingerprints are all over the place, where there’s been a lot of things that had to happen that I just couldn’t control. And you could try to call it coincidence, but at the end of the day there’s 20, 30 things, when you combine them all, that had to happen at the right time for me to be here. So that’s why I call it a miracle.

When David defeated Goliath, that proved the morale booster for Israel to charge and win a resounding victory over the Philistines.
