It's Crazy to be Crazy

It's crazy to be crazy
You know the guy who's initially funny

But ended up trying too hard to be funny
And suddenly it isn't funny anymore

And I'm all for creativity, new insights, fresh ideas

And it's possible when we look at life, things, people from different angles
Even outlandish or weird perspectives

It's like stepping outside of ourselves, our typical, habitual thinking

It's like immersing ourselves beneath the ocean waves and seeing the sunlight above

It's still the same sun that was shining before you dived in

But now it looks different, it feels different

Somehow or rather your brain is registering all these

Processing everything in that deep blue waters
And when you surface something has changed

If that was your first dive ever, it might have felt crazy or silly or scary
I think we're all in need of a little bit more of such
But when we push too far, we might be on the borderline of becoming truly crazy
Some would call it weird, out of sorts

We've seen this before on Academy Awards night or at the Grammys

Some dress a little crazy and we think they're cool
Other over-dress or under-dress in crazy styles that makes you and me conclude they have bad taste

How much crazy is enough to unleash creativity and when is it too much that we unleash insanity?

I don't have the answer - the one size fits all kind
Perhaps it differs from one person to another

Perhaps, what's far out for one person might be another's daily menu
Perhaps, it is crazy, but they've gotten so used to it that it isn't crazy anymore

And so, the stakes get higher in order to qualify for crazy

But you know what are the craziest things in life?

It is to go through life, living life as if we are never going to die - that's crazy

It is to go through life, living a lie and not wanting to wake up from a dream of deception - that's crazy

It is to indulge in loose living and expecting that somehow everything will turn out fine - just like the movies - that's crazy

It is to live a life sowing seeds of irresponsibility and thinking we can escape the reaping of the harvest - that's crazy

It's crazy to live our lives at 100 miles per hour daily and yet not knowing where we are heading in eternity - that's crazy

It's crazy to think an Airbus A380 or a Boeing 747 just happened to be put together because of an explosion - we know someone built these planes

It's crazy to think the universe and life and all the laws governing the universe just came to be by themselves

John Lennon asked us to imagine that there's no heaven, and that there's no hell below us

If it's a creative exercise, I think that's fine

But it's crazy to ignore thinking about heaven or hell - what if there's a heaven and a hell?

It's time to ask sobering questions about life, about existence, about heaven, about hell

"You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one, I hope someday you'll join us, And the world will live as one."

Get a little crazy and ask - what if Jesus Christ is right - about heaven, about hell, about life?
