Regular Spiritual Covering

Job 1:5
5 When a period of feasting had run its course, Job would send and have them purified. Early in the morning he would sacrifice a burnt offering for each of them, thinking, “Perhaps my children have sinned and cursed God in their hearts.” This was Job’s regular custom.

The end of an event is not the end of the matter. There’s follow up! Job was not paranoid but realistic. He understood human nature, the proneness to sin. Therefore he provided spiritual covering for his family. He exercised leadership in gathering the children. He made sure they went through the purification process themselves. He offered sacrifices & made intercession for them. He was concerned for their spiritual state & welfare. Job was a parent who took precautionary measures. He covered every ground of possibilities. He was thinking about the children constantly. It was not just a collective concern, but it was for each individual child. This was Job’s regular custom.
